New Original Vocal Innovative
Individually, these six singers have performed on some of the world's biggest stages, trained at top music colleges, and been critically acclaimed for their singing, writing, and production skills. Together, they are NoVI.
NoVI is a London-based a cappella group, delivering a unique fusion of contemporary performance, classic ensemble, and cutting-edge technology. Established in 2017, this young, ambitious group embrace a wide range of genres, putting a personal stamp on each and every song in their repertoire. With original songwriting and innovative vocal arrangements at the heart of their ethos, NoVI seeks to make both great music and great art. As a cappella becomes more and more prevalent in mainstream culture, they are excited to share their message with a growing audience, and explore the depth of human emotion through music.
Despite joining NoVI as a soprano, Lydia’s love for close harmony began at the age of 12 when she was scouted by her music teacher to be the unexpected, innocent-looking alto 2 in the school female barbershop quartet. From then on, Lydia has been a member of many different and varied harmony groups ranging from choirs to vintage trios.
After graduating from music college in 2014, Lydia has gone on to perform backing vocals with artists such as U2, Tom Odell and Dermot Kennedy, has travelled the world performing with artist Tom Speight for the past 5 years and has been writing and performing with female duo Bad Honey. A particular highlight of 2020 was appearing in Will Ferrel’s Eurovision film as a toothy Icelandic singer! Working with such a large variety of artists has influenced the sound of Lydia’s solo music which she is currently working on to release from 2021.
